1. Welcome to Explainli!

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Explainli, an AI-powered service that transforms complex topics into clear, engaging explanations for learners of all ages.

By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Explainli.

2. Who Can Use Explainli

• ✅ Anyone 13 years or older can create an account
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Users under 13 need parental consent and supervision
• 🌍 Available worldwide (subject to local laws)
• 🎓 Perfect for students, teachers, parents, and lifelong learners

3. Your Account

3.1 Creating an Account

• Provide accurate email and create a secure password
• Or sign in with Google for faster access
• You're responsible for keeping your account secure
• Don't share your password with others

3.2 Account Security

If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, change your password immediately in Settings. We'll never ask for your password via email.

3.3 Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Danger Zone. Your explanations will remain public to help others learn, but all personal data will be removed within 30 days.

4. Using Explainli

4.1 What You Can Do

• ✨ Generate unlimited explanations on any topic
• 📚 Save explanations to "My Library"
• 📥 Export as PNG or PDF
• 🔗 Share explanation links with others
• 🎨 Get hand-drawn sketches and visual guides
• 🎯 Choose your education level (Elementary, Middle, or High School)

4.2 What You Can't Do

• ❌ Abuse or attempt to break the service
• ❌ Create bots or automated tools to spam requests
• ❌ Generate harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
• ❌ Circumvent rate limits (10 generations/hour)
• ❌ Resell or redistribute Explainli content as your own product
• ❌ Reverse engineer or scrape our AI systems

4.3 Rate Limits

To ensure fair access and prevent abuse, we limit users to:

• 10 explanation generations per hour
• 20 topic preflight checks per hour

5. AI-Generated Content

5.1 How It Works

Explainli uses advanced AI (GPT-4o and DALL-E 3) to generate explanations and sketches. While we strive for accuracy, AI can sometimes make mistakes.

You own the explanations you generate. However, by using Explainli:

• 📖 We can display your explanations publicly to help others learn
• 🔗 Explanation links are shareable and publicly accessible
• 💾 You can delete explanations from "My Library" anytime
• 📤 Exported files (PNG/PDF) are yours to keep and use as you wish

6. Pricing & Payments

Currently, Explainli is free to use with rate limits. We may introduce premium features in the future, but core functionality will remain accessible to all.

7. Privacy

Your privacy matters. Read our full Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

📌 Quick summary: We use your data to generate explanations and improve our service. We NEVER sell your data.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email. Continued use of Explainli after changes means you accept the new Terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Abuse the service or harass others
• Engage in illegal activities
• Repeatedly circumvent rate limits

You'll be notified before termination unless immediate action is required for security.

10. Limitation of Liability

Explainli is provided "as is" without warranties. We're not liable for:

• Inaccuracies in AI-generated content
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Data loss (always export important explanations!)
• Decisions made based on our explanations
